Allison McGeer is an infectious disease epidemiologist and a professor in Laboratory medicine and Pathobiology at the U of Toronto. Her research centers on understanding the epidemiology of the emergence of AMR and on mitigation interventions. She serves on a number of national committees working on the implementation of the Canadian National Framework for Antimicrobial Resistance (including the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Expert Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance), and is a founding member of the Canadian Nosocomial Infection Surveillance Program. She has CIHR funded research to study multidrug resistance in sewage and hospital waste water systems. Involved in aim 2a.
