Pierre Amato is research scientist at Centre national de recherche scientifique (CNRS) (CR1) leading research about microbiology of the outdoor and high atmosphere. He authored 41 articles and sept book chapters. He investigates “the atmospheric ecosystem”, in particular the biodiversity, functioning and metabolic activity of microbial communities in clouds, aerosols and precipitation, using microbiological, cellular and molecular methods. He developed sampling methods and meta-omics approaches that allowed a deeper description of the biological content and processes occurring in the atmosphere. In charge of aim 4c. He will supervise post-doctoral student Florent Rossi.
